Kimberly-Clark ist ein internationaler Konzern und wurde 1872 von John Kimberly, Havilah Babcock, Charles Clark und Frank Shattuck als Papierhersteller gegründet. Der Sitz des Unternehmens ist in Dallas, USA. K-C produziert hauptsächlich Produkte wie Kosmetiktücher, Taschentücher, Windeln, Binden und Co. – Manche der K-C Brands gibt es in Deutschland nicht zu kaufen, aufgelistet habe ich sie der Vollständigkeit wegen dennoch.

Position Statement on Live Animal Testing

At Kimberly-Clark, we do not test our products, raw materials or ingredients on live animals unless required by law, regulation, or a governmental authority or unless no alternative method is available to ensure human safety prior to product use. In the rare cases where no alternative to live animal testing is available, we strive to minimize or avoid use of live animals. However, if such testing is unavoidable, we adhere to the strictest ethical and legal standards. We encourage regulatory authorities to accept alternatives to live animal methods for testing products, raw materials or ingredients by funding research, promoting scientific advances, fostering the exchange of best practices and encouraging more humane alternatives. For example, K-C is a founding member and continuing supporter of the Institute for In Vitro Sciences (IIVS), a nonprofit foundation that promotes adoption and regulatory acceptance of alternatives to laboratory animal testing, and ICARAA — Industry Council for the Advancement of Regulatory Acceptance of Alternatives. K-C will continue to work with stakeholders to develop and implement alternative methods to assess the safety and efficacy of products, raw materials and ingredients without the use of live animals.
